NOTICE OF JAMBOREE
1st Annual STC Team Race Jamboree
Saturday/Sunday, October 18-19, 2025
Venue: Larchmont YC, Woodbine Ave, Larchmont NY
EVENT: Two days of Team Racing among Storm Trysail members from near and far
GOAL: Fun, Camaraderie, introduction to team racing for some; sharpening skills for others.
RACING FORMATS: Sonars (with or without spinnakers); Ideal 18s (without spinnakers); 3v3; probably some 2v2; maybe even a 4v4 if someone brings an abacus.
TEAMS: People may register as a team, which will remain intact for at least the first sailing session. The Organizers will assign everyone else to boats and teams—adjusting rosters throughout then event to optimize competition and fun. Usual helms will spend some time crewing; usual crews will do some steering if they would like to.
SCHEDULE: (everything except daily check-in time will be subject to change on the fly!)
Saturday: 9:00: Check-in; Breakfast; Chalk-talk; Boat/Team assignments
10:30-12:30: Morning sailing session
1:00-2:00: Bag lunches on the dock
2:30-4:30: Afternoon sailing session
5:00-? Cash bar, Bar-B-Q dinner
Sunday: 9:00: Check-in; Breakfast: De-brief; Boat/Team assignments
10:00-12:00: Morning sailing session
12:00-1:00 Bag lunch on the dock
1:00-3:00. Afternoon sailing session
3:30--? Hot Dogs, Keg beer, “Awards.”
COST: $100/ per person, to be invoiced by STC. If you can sail only one day, fine if you let us know in advance, then $50. This includes use of boats; continental breakfast and bag lunch each day; dinner Saturday and post-race party Sunday, and “trophies.” Excludes bar charges. This is an awesome value, partly subsidized by a successful BIRW 2025!
PRIOR REGISTRATIONS IS ESSENTIAL FOR EVENT PLANNING. BY REGISTERING YOU AGREE TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF ANY DAMAGE TO A BOAT YOU STEER, NET OF INSURANCE.
