The Storm Trysail Club’s Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta Series (IORS) continues its national growth in 2026 with three premier events spanning the country — and a new trophy recognizing the top collegiate offshore sailing program of the year.
Originally established in the early 1970s by The Corinthians, the Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta began as an invitational event at Larchmont Yacht Club, bringing together keelboat owners and collegiate sailors for spirited fall competition. What started as a single regatta has evolved into a truly national series connecting programs from coast to coast.
2026 IOR Schedule
- Long Island Sound Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta (IOR) – Larchmont Yacht Club
October 9–11, 2026 - Great Lakes Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta (GLIOR) – Chicago Yacht Club & Corinthian Yacht Club
September 27–28, 2026 - Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta (PCIOR) – Seattle Corinthian Yacht Club
November 14–15, 2026
The addition of the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta marks a significant milestone for the series, expanding the IOR footprint to the Pacific Northwest and strengthening intersectional competition nationwide.
Request an Invitation
With growing demand and limited berths available at each venue, entry to the 2026 Intercollegiate Offshore Regattas will be by invitation.
Schools are asked to submit a Request for Invitation indicating which regatta(s) they wish to attend. For convenience, a single application form allows teams to request entry to one, two, or all three events.
The IOR Committee will review all requests in late summer and thoughtfully allocate berths to ensure competitive balance, geographic representation, and a strong owner-sailor partnership at each regatta.
More Cups to Vie For
The Callisto Cup is awarded to the school with the best combined overall performance across the Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta Series in a single academic year.
Bestowed by Jim and Kate Murray in 2025, the Callisto Cup encourages programs to compete beyond their home region and rewards consistent excellence across the national series. College of Charleston won the inaugural trophy. Results from Larchmont, Chicago, and Seattle will count toward the overall standings.
But now there are three more Cups up for grabs:
- The Endeavour Cup bestowed by Matt and Emily Gallagher for the best performance in Chicago
- The Hamachi Cup bestowed by Shawn Dougherty for the best performance in Seattle
- The Christopher Dragon Cup bestowed by Andrew and Linda Weiss for the best performance in Larchmont
As the IOR Series continues to expand, the Callisto Cup establishes a true coast-to-coast collegiate offshore championship narrative.
