The STC Grandmasters Team started its season-long quest for the Peter Wilson Trophy, emblematic of the national grandmasters championship, on the road in Kemah, TX, sailing on Galveston Bay. STC competed against the host Texas Corinthian YC, New York YC, Southern YC, and St. Francis YC.

The competition was intense with NYYC coming out on top with a 13-1 record followed by TCYC, Southern, Storm Trysail, and St. Francis.

STC looked on the first event of the season as an opportunity to get back in gear after the long layoff following last season’s successful event at Harbour Court. Obviously we left ourselves room for improvement even though we became increasingly more competitive through the three day event. The next event is May 3-4 at Seawanhaka Corinthian YC, the Oyster Bay Challenge.
