Join Storm Trysail Club and Riverside Yacht Club for the Shearwater Regatta on September 14-15, 2024!
We are excited to announce the Shearwater Regatta is back, an annual event formerly known as the Long Island Sound Championships. This regatta, held in early fall, is a qualifier for several YRALIS season awards, including the De Coursey Fales (PHRF), Sagola (PHRF), and Windigo (PHRF) Trophies, and the Youth Challenge Cup. Qualifying details may be found on the YRALIS website.
Eligible boats include those with a current YRALIS PHRF Certificate, One Design boats (such as J-70, J-109), and boats with a current ORC certificate. Specific regulations apply, including crew weight limits and additional allowances for young crew members. If attending ORC Worlds in Newport a few weeks later, this is a great warm-up event.
And if you need another reason to attend this event, not just for the great sailing, but also for a fantastic party at Riverside Yacht Club! Friday night is an owner's reception followed by parties on Saturday and Sunday awards. Sponsored by Regatta Craft Mixers and Litchfield Distillery, expect some delicious drinks to complement the evening.
