Juniors Can Learn Valuable Offshore Survival Skills on Shore and On the Water.
Participants must be proficient at basic sailing and over the age of 13. You must know how to sail. Deadline to register is May 31, 2025.

Course Curriculum:
- Heavy Weather Discussion/Awareness/Radio
- Crew Overboard Prevention and Recovery
- Big Boat Safety Equipment
- Fire Suppression and Flare Use
- Life Raft Deployment and Boarding
- On the water session with man overboard recovery, setting storm sails & emergency steering
Seminar Schedule:
0900h to 1700h
What to Bring:
The seminar will be an all-day affair. You will be in the classroom and on the water.
- Sunblock, hat, swimsuit, towel
- Appropriate boating shoes. No flip flops or sandals
- Dress appropriately for the weather (sailing rain or shine)
- Lunch and a refillable water bottle
- USCG approved PFD (contact in advance if you don’t have one)
- Inflatable PFD (optional for inspection and learning)
- Any safety gear you want to learn more about
- A notebook and pen or pencil
