Like the rest of us, STC member Charlie Enright is quarantined at home. As the Skipper of the 11th Hour Racing Team, he'd otherwise be preparing and training for The Ocean Race, set to start in October, 2021. 11th Hour is entering the race in the foiling IMOCA 60 class. They are currently modeling boat speeds in the 40+ knot range, and will have a crew of only 5! While Charlie is now a veteran to the race, this is a whole new game in many ways.

Erik Storck, STC Young Members Committee Chair, will host the conversation. Charlie and Erik have known each other since sailing optis together as kids, and teamed up at the top level of dinghy team racing following college, including qualifying for the 2009 Team Racing World Championships in Perth, Australia. This will be an informal conversation among friends - so you'll get to hear his candid thoughts on what it's like foiling across an open ocean, how Charlie and his team are thinking about putting together the right mix of sailors for the race, and what home life has been like of late.
