Slow Go At The 2018 Long Island Sound Championships

Riverside, CONN. - PRO and STC Fleet Captain Ray Redniss got kudos from the fleet for getting 2 light air but fair races in, on a weekend when some other LIS venues were skunked. This was the 9th setting of the LIS championships, organized in partnership with our friends at Riverside Yacht Club.

Wave Rider, owned by Benoit & Victor Ansart, used the LIS Champs as a training event for the sailing team from Victor's alma mater, Tufts University, for the upcoming Intercollegiate Offshore Regatta. The Jumbos put the event to good use by posting a 1-1 record for first place in PHRF-1. Crew was; Ansgar Jordan (Skipper, 2022), Anna Robling (Main Trim, 2019), Andrew Savage (Jib/Spinnaker, 2019), Vinicius Freitas (Mast, 2022), and Connor Sheridan (Bow, 2022). The Tufts team was supported by owner Benoit Ansart (Pit), and his son, a Tufts alumnus, Victor Ansart.
