Advances in MOB Recovery: New & Better Ways as applied to sailing and power vessels

A recent study of fatalities has shown that traditional methods of recovering overboard crew should be improved. Our members Dick York, the newly appointed head of safety for US Sailing, and Rich du Moulin, a veteran of six Transatlantic Races and 25 Newport-Bermuda races, will instruct us in new practices and safety equipment designed to improve chances of successful recovery.

Panelists will include Renee Mehl, Director, Offshore Sail Training Squadron, US Naval Academy; Michael Moradzadeh, former Commodore of the Pacific Cup Race; and racer Jeff Schaefer, who in 2020 won US Sailings Arthur B. Hanson Medal for rescuing a female crew at night in a storm.

This will be a crossed burgee event with the New York Yacht Club and the Cruising Club of America. David Tunick, moderating.

To register fill out the form below and a zoom link will be provided in your confirmation email and an optional quiz will be sent to you the day before the event.
