Juan E. Corradi is Professor Emeritus of Sociology at NYU, where he has also been director of the Latin American Center, Acting Dean of the Graduate School of Arts and Science, and Executive Director of NYU in Florence. He has held visiting professorial positions in universities in France, Canada, Italy, and Argentina. He is co-editor of the internet journal Opinion Sur. He is author of numerous scholarly articles, and seven books, the last of which, Strategic Impasse, is in press at the moment. He is an expert in socio-economic development and geopolitics. He has served in several boards of foundations and as partner in New York real estate enterprises. In addition to his professional activities, Juan is an avid ocean sailor and a member of several sailing organizations in the United States, including the New York Yacht Club, the Cruising Club of America, the Storm Trysail Club, and the North American Station of the royal Scandinavian yacht clubs. He is currently writing a book on ocean sailing and a novel. He speaks several languages and lives with his wife Christina in New York and Newport.
