Bruce Brown founded Bruce Brown and Associates in 1990 and has been an independent manufacturer's representative for over 40 years. He is the past chairman of the Long Beach Yacht Club's Congressional Cup, served as the Deputy Director of the 1984 Olympic Sailing Venue and served on the Board of Directors of the Long Beach Yacht Club. He is the past president of the United States Marine Safety Association and the Southern California Marine Association.
Bruce is currently a member of the US Sailing Safety at Sea Committee, is also a Moderator and Trainer for US Sailing Safety at Sea Courses and serves as the Chair of the Working Group on Moderators and Training for US Sailing's Safety at Sea Committee. He is a member of Long Beach Yacht Club, Transpac Yacht Club and the Cruising Club of America, where he serves as his station Safety Officer.
Bruce co-skippered a Transpac entry in 1985 aboard a NM 55 and served as the safety officer on board a Farr 57 in the 2019 TransPac. He has raced numerous races to Mexico and has cruised in Mexico, California, the Pacific NorthWest and the Greek Isles from Turkey.
Bruce is a US Coast Guard Approved Trainer for 100T Captain's Licenses and STCW Courses.
Bruce lives in Costa Mesa with his wife Linda.
