William Snaith Memorial Trophy

To perpetuate the memory of William Snaith, a Governor of The Storm Trysail Club, author, raconteur, designer, and most competent and enthusiastic ocean racing yachtsman, the Governors of The Storm Trysail Club hereby authorize the creation of a trophy under the following conditions:

The trophy shall be awarded to the recorded designer of the yacht which finishes first on corrected time in the Newport-Bermuda Race or the Annapolis-Newport Race, depending upon the year in which such race is conducted. Since 1987 the trophy is presented to the designer of the yacht winning the St. David's Lighthouse Trophy in the Newport-Bermuda Race only.
