Lakewood Yacht Club

April 10, 2021

STC has rescheduled the Gulf Coast Safety at Sea event for April 10th 2021 now at Lakewood YC. Therefore please Mark Your Calendars!

The format will be essentially the same at originally planned.  If you held your March registration over, you do not need to do anything. If you canceled, then please consider re-booking for April, registration is below.

We look forward to getting back to a sense of normality and offering this important training to the sailing community.

The Storm Trysail Club in partnership with Lakewood Yacht Club will be hosting a second Gulf Coast US Sailing Sanctioned Hands-On Safety-at-Sea Seminar on Saturday, April 10th, 2021, with the support of the Storm Trysail Foundation, Lakewood Yacht Club and the Galveston Bay Cruising Association.

Following on the huge success of the first Storm Trysail Hands-on SAS Seminar held in 2018, this event will again offer two instructional tracks.

The seminar for both tracks will be supplemented by Storm Trysail’s educational Safety-at-Sea Video Library produced by long time Storm Trysail member Gary Jobson. These videos cover a broad range of safety-at-sea subjects and will be available to attendees online prior to the seminar. The videos must be viewed before arrival at the seminar. Participants seeking World Sailing Offshore Certification will also be required to take the US Sailing Offshore online video course and pass the associated online exam before attending the seminar (please bring your certificate of completion with you to the seminar’s on-site check in).
