STC Basic Race Management Seminar

There are still seats available for our STC sponsored US Sailing BRMS being held online the evenings of March 24, 25, and 26.  Many of you indicated interest in the past. Initial offering for this second seminar was sent to all who did, and there are still a few seats left. If you have an interest in becoming a race officer, or if you just want to learn more about race management, this course is excellent!

There is no requirement to take the exam for certification, but if you attend all three evenings, as STC members your entry fee ($40) will be reimbursed by the Club.

Seminar Description:

ONLINE Basic Race Management Seminar.

3/24/2025 – 3/26/2025

Instructors are Jerry Thompson and Matt Bounds.

The seminar consists of three live 2.5-hour Zoom sessions on Monday, March 24, Tuesday, March 25 and Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

All sessions are 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm ET, (4:00 pm – 6:30 pm PT, 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm CT).

There is approximately 30-60 minutes of pre-course work required before each session. Attendance in all three sessions is required to complete and pass the course. About five days before your course begins, you will receive an email from Canvas Free for Teachers, [email protected], inviting you to participate in the course through Canvas, US Sailing’s online learning platform. Please click the "Get Started" link to complete your profile in Canvas and access the course materials.

The lead instructor will email you with additional course information. This class will be taught on-line via Zoom. The instructors will be on-line approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of each session.

US Sailing course registration fee: $40. A discounted US Sailing special introductory membership is available for first-timers during the registration process.

This is an online seminar set up for primarily for Storm Trysail members but will be open to non-members on February 28th. Storm Trysail members who complete the seminar will be reimbursed by the Club.
