We’re officially just over a week out from Block Island Race Week and the excitement (and logistics) are building! Below are several important updates, reminders, and newly posted resources to ensure a smooth arrival.

🎟️ Wristbands & Drink Tickets – Last Chance for Presale

Presales close tonight (June 13) so we can include them in skipper bags.

🖊️ Crew Lists and Waivers Due June 16

Please complete your crew list and have your crew complete waivers by Sunday, June 16. This includes World Sailing Sailor IDs and Sailor Group Classifications.

⚓ Docking at Champlin’s – Message from the Dockmaster

If staying at Race HQ, hail Champlin’s Marina on Channel 11 and WAIT for instructions. Do not enter the marina until directed—their dock staff will be ready to assist you. They have a detailed docking plan in place, but your cooperation is key to making everything run smoothly. We appreciate your patience in advance.

Important Docking Tips:

  • Bring more fenders, dock lines, and fender boards than you think you’ll need.
  • Fender boards help distribute pressure on your fenders when rafting or tying up against pilings. (How to make a fender board).

🚗 Parking & Getting Around Block Island

As a reminder, there is absolutely no daytime or overnight parking available at Champlin’s unless you are staying in one of their overnight rooms. The Champlin’s lot is strictly drop-off and pick-up only—please plan accordingly once you’ve arrived on the island.

To help you get around, our friends at Aldo’s Bike and Moped are offering special weekly rates:

  • $50 for bikes
  • $250 for mopeds

You can call ahead to reserve (401) 466-5018, or meet the Aldo’s team at Registration on Sunday, where they’ll be offering rides downtown to pick up rentals.

🚕 And of course, there are plenty of taxis available on the island to help you get where you need to go.

🎯 Lay Day Interest Form Now Posted

We’re keeping a close eye on the forecast and may adjust plans if conditions call for it. In the event of a Lay Day, we’ve put together some optional activities to keep the energy up and the competition friendly.
